The Bearcat Football team came into the season with high expectations this year. Following a playoff berth in 2007, their goals were to get back into contention for a CIF championship. The Bearcats fought through a summer of two-a-days to put themselves in the right angle to fight for a Miramonte League championship. After over three months of practice, they were ready to take down any one that came in their way. After an average start to their season, going 3-2 through the pre-season, the Bearcats were ready to win their league opener. Bonita stepped it up and finished 3-1 with a second place finish to the CIF champions, Charter Oak. For the second consecutive year, Bonita made it into the CIF play-offs. They played a tough opponent, West Covina High School. In a hard fought battle, the Bearcats fell short, ending their 2008 season. Next season will begin with higher expectations and new faces, but the Bearcats are confident they can meet it with victory.
