Starting off the season with a not-so-perfect record, somehow the Saints managed to make a comeback by winning all six league games. Their victory against the undefeated Pomona High School granted them the Valle Vista League title and an opportunity to move forward into the playoffs. With leadership from Bill Zernickow, coach of the year, and Joseph Mayorga, player of the year, the team was able to continue their winning streak and eventually found themselves in the C..F. Finals against Paraclete. In the low-scoring battle, on San Dimas turf, the Saints’ offense and defense undoubtedly proved to be more focused and determined to win and they succeeded. The Saints’ football season came to an end as they walked away with the CIF Southern Section Mid-Valley title in their hands.
